David, Rashid, Karen, Pauline, John, and Giulia are the six “ottenni” protagonists of Marco David Benadì’s new book dedicated to children: “The Strange Case of Nelson Whitman,” a social project, an art book, a story, a screenplay, a video trailer, a blend of all these elements.
Six stories of children who are completely different from each other, told through the images of Sonia QQ, the stage name of illustrator Sonia Cuculelli. Six characters who share adventures and misadventures, six stories that speak of intolerance and welcome, inclusion and marginalization, and in which the canary Nelson, a feathered thinker, teacher and companion, friend of children, serves as a source of inspiration and the common thread of the project.
Presented in preview on November 24 at the Polo del 900 in Turin, “The Strange Case of Nelson Whitman” will be officially presented at Palazzo Bilotti in Rome on December 12 during the exhibition curated by Ermanno Tedeschi, “Unforgettable Childhood.”
The proceeds from the sale of the books will be entirely donated to Casa Ugi Onlus, the Association that brings together Italian parents with young children affected by cancer, which has always focused on improving the quality of life for children and teenagers during therapy and helping families face difficulties.
